Meet the lab

Principal Investigator
Thomas Hagan, PhD
Assistant Professor, UC Department of Pediatrics
Vaccines vary widely in how broad, potent and long-lasting the immune responses they induce are, and the mechanisms behind that variability are not well understood.
Thomas joined the Division of Infectious Diseases at Cincinnati Children’s in 2021. His research interests include systems immunology, vaccinology, and interactions between the microbiome and the immune system. During his postdoctoral training he showed that antibiotic-driven perturbation of the gut microbiome can impair antibody responses to influenza vaccination in humans (Hagan et al., Cell 2019).
